My hair actually stays cleaner for longer. I suffer from eczema and this has almost eliminated all the flakes. My hair feels amazing and my sclap is cleaner than ever. The "bristles" are soft and don't scratch your scalp and the handle fits perfectly in your palm.
As someone who’s hair is so dark that it’s almost black, dandruff is my literal nightmare. I’ve tried the shampoos, the hair masks, the pinterest diy’s and just couldn’t get rid of it. Well not anymore, folks! This thing is magic. Like, little fairies are scrubbing my head and I have no more dandruff, magic. It’s crazy.
This think scrubs away product buildup and dandruff like nobody’s business. I want to kick myself for spending so much money on “scalp purifying” and “dandruff eliminating” products that maybe worked for a day, tops. I’ve used this twice now, and have taken full advantage of wearing my dark brown locks down and don’t have to worry about the daunting “can people notice my dandruff?” question that was constantly going through my mind.
I was skeptical that this would reach my scalp effectively as I have 4b curly/course hair, and lots of it. But I must say, I was pleasantly surprised! I honestly didn't want to stop washing my hair, it felt so good! The rubber "bristles" definitely reached my scalp and cleaned it thoroughly. I typically use my nails which I know is not good for my scalp, so this was an amazing alternative that still effectively cleansed my scalp. I also suffer from scalp psoriasis and often have scaly patches that aren't easily lifted, but this honestly did the trick. I was so happy to jump out of the shower, look into the mirror and see a sparkling clean scalp. I highly recommend this to those of all hair textures! If you are African American and are skeptical, don't be.
Both my husband and I have curly hair that's prone to build up and sometimes we use just conditioner to wash our hair, so a scalp brush is a game changer to remove buildup, plus it just feels so nice! I had previously bought one on Amazon that has all spikes for the bristles, where as this one has alternating styles of the silicone bristles-- some are spikey and conical while some are flat. I actually prefer this one to the one I have at home. The combo bristles feel better and it fits perfectly your hand and between your fingers so it doesn't slip around when you have product on your hands.
A little over a year ago I stopped chemically straightening my hair and am now fully natural. I love my coils and curls, but I'm still getting used to the thickness and how fast it's been growing. It's been so thick and fast-growing, in fact, that it's hard to get to my scalp when shampooing, leaving me with itchy build-up. I discovered scalp massagers/shampoo brushes through helpful old YouTube and decided to give this one a chance due to its special designed bristles/teeth. All I can say about my first experience with a shampoo brush, well this one in particular is, "Whoa!" It reached my scalp easily with its longer bristles. While said bristles seem soft, they're still tough enough for the job of massaging and getting up the build-up. I even used this brush to detangle prior to rinsing in preparation for the conditioning step. I highly recommend it for those with thicker, curly or wavy hair.
