This is a wonderful idea; it's comfortable to wear around the neck, easy to bend, and small enough to carry in your pocket once it's folded up. The cold white light is great for reading, especially for older eyes. I am withholding one star as I find that the beams are fairly focused at the distance that is comfortable for me to hold the book; in the attached photo, I have used only one lamp with both bulbs turned on, and you can see that the dim bulb shines to the left and the bright bulb to the right and create bright spots rather than illuminating the whole page. The problem is alleviated by using both lamps, but I find it impossible to get the book pages evenly illuminated.
Got this to use as an outdoor light for walking the dog at night & as a reading night-light. Love how compactly it stores and how endlessly bendable it is for various uses & positions (pic 01). And it holds the position I want it to stay too. It's quite comfortable around my neck for a hands-free hold. Great to have for camping. Recommended.
Although I generally prefer reading e-books with my Kindle PaperWhite, which has a backlit screen, if I'm reading a hard copy edition for review, or one of my old favorites, adequate light is a problem. Our living room is optimized for watching TV, not reading, so I have to resort to using either a portable reading lamp, or some kind of personal lightsource, like a headlamp. I recommend it.
What a cool product! I?€?ve always avoided buying book lights because they use up batteries so quickly and its a pain to have to keep replacing them. This FGIJ model solves my objections and offers some additional pluses. It doesn?€?t require batteries at all and come with its own recharging cord. Also, since it?€?s flexible and made to wear around the neck, it?€?s easy to redirect light as needed. Its two bulb sockets can be used one at a time or together, and I like the white LEDs so much better than the yellower incandescent. It?€?s also fabulous for knitting, which I often do when watching TV, directing the light onto my hands so it doesn?€?t cause any glare. The bottom line is that FGJI has a very satisfied customer.
This is an ultra-convenient reading light for both kids and adults. There are two lights, one on each end, as well as multiple modes to vary the brightness according to personal preferences and needs. It's not so bright as to bother your partner when in bed and reading either. It works VERY well when seated and reading, easily directing the light right onto the page. Reading while laying down isn't quite as perfect and requires a bit more fiddling to get it just right, but it's workable.Even better, it's rechargeable. No batteries to worry about. It's a great light to offer as that crutch from a night light to sleeping in the dark too, as the light will be right there on their neck for quick access should that under-the-bed-monster prove to be a threat at 3 am. The design of the light means that it is very low risk of presenting any kind of a hazard for most kids and adults. (I can't imagine any, but then again, I can't imagine why I would want a toaster in the bathtub either.)An excellent gift for any bookworm. It would also be a great gift for a child.
